1. About WorkMates

WorkMates is a free platform where people in similar roles connect to talk ideas through and share experience. It is operated by:

WorkMates
c/o Ben Crean
Rue Edith-Burger 8
1018 Lausanne
Switzerland

You can reach us at hello@workmates.ch.

2. Who can join

You must be at least 16 years old to use WorkMates. By joining, you confirm that you are, and that the information you give us is accurate. You may use WorkMates for personal and professional purposes, but not on behalf of anyone else without their permission.

3. Peer opinion, not professional advice

Important: WorkMates connects you with peers who share their personal experience and opinions. It is not a substitute for professional, legal, financial, medical, or any other regulated advice. Anything you read or receive through WorkMates is the personal view of another member, not advice from WorkMates. You are responsible for your own decisions and for verifying any information before you act on it.

4. Your account

  • Keep your login details private. You are responsible for activity that happens under your account.
  • Give accurate information and keep your profile up to date.
  • One person, one account. Do not impersonate anyone or pretend to have experience you do not have.
  • Tell us promptly at hello@workmates.ch if you think your account has been accessed without your permission.

5. How you must behave

WorkMates only works because members treat each other well. You agree to follow our Community Guidelines. In short, you must not:

  • Harass, threaten, discriminate against, or abuse other members.
  • Post content that is illegal, hateful, deceptive, or infringes someone else's rights.
  • Use WorkMates to spam, advertise, recruit, or sell, unless we have clearly allowed it.
  • Share other members' private information without their consent.
  • Attempt to disrupt, hack, scrape, or misuse the service or its data.

6. Content you post

You keep ownership of the content you create on WorkMates. By posting it, you give us a non-exclusive licence to store and display it as needed to run the service (for example, showing your profile and delivering your messages). You are responsible for the content you post and confirm you have the right to share it. We may remove content that breaches these terms or our guidelines.

7. A free service

WorkMates is free to use. We provide it "as is" and may change, pause, or improve features over time. If we ever need to change how the service is funded or offered, we will tell members in advance.

8. Suspension and termination

You can delete your account at any time. We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms or the Community Guidelines, or where we reasonably believe it is necessary to protect members or the service. Where it is fair to do so, we will let you know why.

9. Disclaimers

We work to keep WorkMates useful and available, but we cannot guarantee it will always be uninterrupted, error-free, or that the information shared by members is accurate or suitable for your situation. To the extent permitted by law, the service is provided without warranties of any kind.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by Swiss law, WorkMates and its operator are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of the service, from decisions you make based on information shared by other members, or from the conduct of other members. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, such as for gross negligence or wilful misconduct.

11. Your responsibility to us

If your use of WorkMates, or content you post, causes a claim against us by someone else, you agree to be responsible for the reasonable costs and damages that result, to the extent the law allows.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. When we make a significant change, we will update the date above and let members know. If you keep using WorkMates after a change, that means you accept the updated terms.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by Swiss law. Any dispute will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts of Lausanne, Canton of Vaud, Switzerland, unless mandatory law provides otherwise.
